Prions, Parkinson's disease and the search for a new generation of treatments
Authors
Abstract
Recent research suggests that aggregates of cytosolic proteins such as α‐synuclein may spread in a manner similar to prions in certain neurodegenerative diseases. Mark Greener explains how drugs that can reduce formation or increase clearance of these proteins may represent new treatment strategies for Parkinson's disease.
