Reducing the suicide rate in people with mental health problems
Abstract
Analysis of suicide statistics provides some useful insights into how health service improvements may help reduce rates further among people with mental health problems, a group who are at a greater risk from suicide than the general population, suggested Dr Nav Kapur, Head of Research at the Centre for Suicide Prevention, University of Manchester and Assistant Director of the National Confidential Inquiry into Suicide and Homicide by People with Mental Illness.
